Henrietta Lacks

"There are at least two issues that cases like Mrs. Lacks's raise," says Ruth Faden..."One is the question of consent, and the other is what, if anything, is morally or legally due to a person if something of commercial value is developed from their cells."

According to what we read, the scientists asked permission from the husband to research upon Henrietta's cells. And for this reason, I believe it was okay from them to do whatever tests or research or selling of the cells that they wanted to do. Afterall, their main motive which they informed her husband about, was to conduct research to help others in need.

Additionally, the family did not suffer because of this event really. In fact, they must've felt proud that so much reaserch for the future of curing cancer was done because of Henrietta's cells!
